Often people forget that cameras do not make photographs.
Photographs are simply a collection of light and color
captured in a single moment in time, and the camera is
only a tool for capturing. The photographer is the medium,
and just as a person without rhythm will most likely never
learn to dance, a photographer without intuition, depth and
passion will never manipulate a camera to capture what
everyone else might have otherwise missed.
My job as a photographer is to continuously improve my
technique and watch for those moments in time when I can
capture my client's true ability. Whether it be of a bride
whose dress required last minute alterations only to compliment
her body perfectly as she exchanges her vows, or of a fighter
who wasn't quite sure he could win as he made his way to the
ring yet skillfully outmaneuvered his opponent, my passion
is renewed each time someone looks a photograph and utters,
"Wow. That's me?" People rarely see perfection in themselves,
and that is why I am here. In a society obsessed with
imperfection, my job, my gift, is to prove that everything
is a matter of perspective. - Mindy Bush
